How does Flic work?

Flic connects to an iOS or Android phone, a Flic Hub, a computer, or other Bluetooth Low Energy-capable hardware with a Flic software. When Flic is pushed, it activates a pre-defined function. This function can either be something directly on a device - such as making a sound for you to find your phone - or something else such as turning on a light or sending a pre-set email.

Will Flic 2 work with the original Flic Hub?

Yes! You will miss out on Apple HomeKit, double the range, and an improved IR. But for everything else, your original Flic Hub will be just the same as the new Flic Hub LR.

Will the new Flic Hub LR work with my original Flic buttons?

Yes! Your original buttons will work perfectly with the new hub along with most of the new features such as Apple HomeKit and improved IR but not better range. If you want better range then you need the new Flic 2 along with the new Hub LR.

How many functions can I pre-define in my Flic 2?

Flic can be activated with three different triggers: Single Push, Double Push and Hold. With each trigger you can set several different functions so a single push can turn off your morning alarm, start dimming up the lights and turn on the news channel on your TV, all at the same time.

What is the range of my Flic 2?

Flic 2 works up to 50 meters away from your smartphone and up to 200 meters if you use the Flic Hub Long Range with a clear line of sight.

What is my Flic 2’s battery life?

We have optimized the battery life to last as long as possible. For most use-cases, it will last up to three years or 60 000 clicks. Flic 2 also has a replaceable battery. Just twist the backside using the metal clip or the adhesive back, and replace it with a regular coin cell battery (CR2032).

I have Flic 1 already, will they work with the new Hub LR or do I need to buy new Flics?

Yes, all old Flics will work perfectly with the Flic Hub LR, but not with Long Range. When we release Apple HomeKit later this year, this will also work with the old Flics (but not the old Flic Hub).

What is IR and how does it control my TV, set-top box, etc...?

In a nutshell, Flic can replace all your remote controls! IR means infrared and it’s the way that old remote controls communicate with TV’s, sound systems, air conditioners and more. We have developed an IR blaster accessory that you can connect to the hub that works like these old remote controls. This means you can clear the clutter on your coffee table and put old remote controls in the drawer as Flic can now replace their common commands.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
